Cheshire East Council residents will be able to use a new mobile household waste recycling centre service from Saturday 5 September, bringing waste and recycling facilities closer to communities across the borough.
The service will initially operate in Poynton, Wilmslow, Middlewich, Congleton and Macclesfield, with Audlem expected to be added once final arrangements are complete.
The mobile centre forms part of the council's future household waste recycling centre provision and was approved following a review of waste and recycling services across the borough.
Residents will be able to book appointments through the council's booking system, with full details of locations, dates and opening times available on the council's website. The service also allows residents to walk in with their waste and recycling, provided they book first.
Councillor David Jefferay, Cheshire East Council's cabinet member for environment, sustainability and waste management, said: "The launch of the mobile household waste recycling centre service will provide residents with an additional way to recycle and dispose of household waste closer to where they live."
"The service will make it easier for residents, particularly those in rural communities, to access household waste and recycling facilities while complementing our existing household waste recycling centre network."
