Cheshire East Council will launch a mobile household waste recycling centre service on Saturday 5 September 2026. The service will bring waste and recycling facilities to five locations across the borough, with a sixth location expected to follow.
The initial locations are Poynton, Wilmslow, Middlewich, Congleton and Macclesfield. A location in Audlem is expected to be added once final arrangements have been completed.
Why the mobile service?
The new service aims to make it easier for residents to access household waste and recycling facilities closer to home, particularly in rural areas. It complements the council's existing household waste recycling centre network.
How to use the service
Residents will be able to book appointments through the council's booking system. The service also allows residents to walk in with their waste and recycling, provided they book first.

Councillor David Jefferay, cabinet member for environment, sustainability and waste management, said: "The launch of the mobile household waste recycling centre service will provide residents with an additional way to recycle and dispose of household waste closer to where they live."
